Fining & Polishing Pads

Pad and polish selection is important to every lab. Consistency is why PSI recommends the use of a complete surfacing system that makes use of 3M pads, high quality Shawsheen polishing pads and complementary high grade polishes. Using the most up-to-date pad and polish technologies available, PSI has put together Trident Systems, which are production proven to provide the best possible lens finish or today's materials. By using these systems, labs have seen an increase in their lens quality while reducing breakage and production costs.
Trident • PT is a two-step system for Polycarbonate, Trivex and High Index lens materials.

First Fine Pad: 50μ, purple stripe (MFS50-7)
Second Fine Pad: 15μ, orange strip (MFS15-7)
Polish Pad: Pink Perfection (549-7)
Polish: High Pro or Pristine

Processing Recommendations
Fining time (1st fine): 3/4 to 1 minute
Fining time (2nd fine): 1-1/2 to 2 minutes
Polish time: 6 minutes
Pin PSI/Bar Pressure - fining: 14-16 /.25
Pin PSI/Bar Pressure - polishing: 14-16 /.3
